Company

Financial identity for the people who already have one.

The informal trader with eleven years of takings, the gig driver with a wallet ledger, the spaza owner with a settlement history — none of them are invisible. They are just not in a bureau. Wynk exists to close that gap without asking anyone to hand over more than they consented to.

What we believe

That the absence of a credit record is a statement about the record, not the person. That an explanation you cannot interrogate is not an explanation. And that consent which cannot be replayed, revoked and proved is not consent.

What we build

Infrastructure. Wynk does not compete with the institutions it serves — it gives them a record they can defend to a regulator and a decision they can defend to a credit committee. The licence, the book and the customer relationship stay theirs.

How we build it

Zero runtime dependencies, hash-chained by default, consent-gated at the engine rather than at the edge, and tested against an adversarial suite before anything ships. Every engineering shortcut in a platform like this eventually becomes somebody's breach.

The thesis

One spine beats five vendors.

Every institution serving this market ends up assembling the same stack: a bureau for credit, a vendor for KYC, another for FICA screening, a fraud tool, and — if they are an insurer — something for health. Five contracts, five copies of the customer's identity, five audit trails that do not reconcile, and a subject access request that takes a quarter to answer.

Wynk collapses that into one consented record with one ledger over it. The gain is not only cost. It is that identity assurance makes the credit score credible, the credit score makes the FICA file risk-rated, repayment outcomes sharpen the model that produced the score, and the whole thing stays explainable because it never left one place.

That compounding is the product. The individual pillars are how you buy it.

South Africa first, with the platform built for the rest of the continent: data residency is pinned to af-south-1, and the identity, registry and screening adapters are interfaces rather than a single country's integration.

This form writes to the platform itself. The fact that an enquiry was captured — and what it was about — is appended to the audit chain; your contact details are not written to the ledger.
